Billy Heroman’s Flowers & Gifts looks forward to Grandparents Day, a time when we honor our most beloved elders. For us, that was our very own William J. “Billy” Heroman, who we remember with love and affection this September 9. One of the most important things our grandparents pass down to us is a sense of tradition, a respect for certain customs and beliefs about how to treat other people and to honor the events of their lives. Today, we consider how flowers–and daisies in particular–do just that.

Daisies have enjoyed dozens of meanings and inspired various mythologies across cultures. They signify everything from innocence and purity to true love and motherhood. Gerbera daisies, like the pink, yellow and white blooms gathered here in our Great Team Member design, represent cheerfulness. Give them when you want to make someone’s day brighter, as in a get well gift, or to convey an upbeat, lighthearted feeling. 

These would also make the perfect flower to offer to an elderly family member. Their big, bright fan of petals is impossible not to smile at, and they always look refreshingly simple no matter what arrangement they find themselves in.
