It’s almost Earth Day, and in honor of it we here at Billy Heroman’s Flowers & Gifts want to show you what’s growing in our greenhouses.
We love celebrating our planet on April 22—there’s nothing better than seeing our Baton Rouge community come together for plantings, re-cycling events, environmental fairs and clean-ups. While you’re participating in local initiatives that remind us to be good stewards of the Earth, don’t forget to bring something green home, too. One of the best ways to get kids connected to our planet and interested in protecting it is to give them—and the whole house—something green to take care of.
We grow our blooms from tissue cultures, so what you bring home from our greenhouse is always a true Louisiana native. Once in your garden or in a container, these greens and flowering plants are hardy, healthy beauties that come straight from our soil. Just look at this bright bunch of bromeliad trumpeting upward.
Hydrangea look especially inviting planted along walk or entry ways, where they make for a friendly reception. These lush bloomers are perhaps nature’s most beautiful flowering shrub.
Rows of anthurium plants and others are on offer here.
Celebrate this Earth Day by bringing home a new plant to care for. Get everyone in the family involved in learning how to grow something over time. It will lead to even more appreciation for our planet and its natural riches.
