A Boss Plant Gift For Your Boss

By Todd McBride on October 6, 2018 in Plants. 0 Comments

Bosses Day sprang up thanks to the efforts of an employee who, in 1958, decided she wanted an occasion to honor her boss, who also happened to be her father. Since then, Bosses Day has slowly but surely found its way into the mainstream, and now it presents us with a unique opportunity to celebrate the ones who lead, inspire and mentor us. Along with a great office party, we here at Billy Heroman's Flowers & Gifts suggest you gather the team and get your fearless leader a plant gift. Read More about A Boss Plant Gift For Your Boss

Self Care Awareness, Courtesy Of Plants

By Todd McBride on September 10, 2018 in Plants. 0 Comments

September is Self Care Awareness Month, and Billy Heroman's Flowers and Gifts is on board. We know the intoxicating effect of flowers, but we're also keenly aware of the health-giving ones that plants bring. They clean the air. They make it smell better. They remove toxins. They regulate temperature. They humidify. They've been shown to decrease stress in the workplace and to support hospital patients in their recovery. They are indeed an emblem of self care. By Todd McBride on April 16, 2018 in Earth Day, Flowers, Greenhouse, Hydrangea, Plants. 0 Comments

It's almost Earth Day, and in honor of it we here at Billy Heroman's Flowers & Gifts want to show you what's growing in our greenhouses. We love celebrating our planet on April 22---there's nothing better than seeing our Baton Rouge community come together for plantings, re-cycling events, environmental fairs and clean-ups. While you're participating in local initiatives that remind us to be good stewards of the Earth, don't forget to bring something green home, too. One of the best ways to get kids connected to our planet and interested in protecting it is to give them---and the whole house---something green to take care of. Festive Poinsettias for the Office

By Todd McBride on November 17, 2017 in Christmas, Holidays, Plants. 0 Comments

For many of us, the holiday season only officially begins when we've decorated the house and set up the tree. We transform our homes with garlands and lights, introducing some seasonal spirit to our daily lives. For most of us, it's no different at the workplace. Out come the decorations, cheering up our desks and common areas and announcing to customers, clients and coworkers that the holidays are here. At Billy Heroman's Flowers, we love to combine our cherished decor with fresh new items unique to that year. And for us, there's no better way to do that than with winter's vibrant poinsettias. Fall Florals for Hosts

By Todd McBride on November 1, 2017 in Flowers, Plants. 0 Comments

Chances are, you're attending a dinner party sometime this holiday season. And while it may not be on the level of Thanksgiving, it's still a gathering in which your host or hostess will be going to some effort to make a nice meal and put out all the decor. In that case, it's time to think about the thank-you gift you'll offer in return. Hostess gifts have been around forever, and while there's some debate about what's appropriate to give, one thing is for sure, at least to Billy Heromans Flowers & Gifts: Fall florals are never wrong. Celebrating a Great Boss

By Todd McBride on September 21, 2017 in Gift, Office Gifts, Plants. 0 Comments

National Boss's Day originated in the mind of Patricia Bays Haroski, an employee at State Farm Insurance Company in Chicago. She registered the holiday with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in 1958, selecting October 16 as the date as it was her dad's birthday. Haroski's goal was to express gratitude for her boss, as well as to recognize all great employers across the country. She hoped the day would improve and enhance the relationship between employees and their supervisors, bosses and owners. In 1962, Illinois Governor Otto Kerner proclaimed the day an official observance (although it is not a national holiday). In addition to the United States, the day is celebrated in several other countries such as Australia and India. At Billy Heroman's Flowers & Gifts, we believe that a great boss deserves to be recognized.  So here's to the mentors, the promoters, the leaders, and all those who make our workplace a positive place to be every day! We say thank you with beautiful gifts of plants and flowers that will look awesome in any work environment. Read More about Celebrating a Great Boss
